Bridge Awards –
Team Award Nomination Guidelines.
Bridge Awards are open to small
teams consisting of a minimum of 5 but no more than 10-12 eligible staff
members, rather than whole departments or large groups.
Teams may be a formally appointed group brought together
to work on a specific project or event (project team),
or a group of individuals who work together on a regular
basis (permanent team). Both project teams and permanent
teams may be nominated. Small cross-functional teams
that include members from different departments/campuses
are particularly welcome. Up to five teams will be
selected to receive awards.
Individual team members must be identified and all team members must meet the nomination eligibility requirements. Nominees should have been active contributors to the project/event/initiative. Nominators must designate one team member as the “team contact.” This person will receive Showcase information on behalf of the entire team.
Cross-functional teams may report to two or more reporting areas. If this is the case, nominators should check all appropriate reporting area boxes on the Bridge Award nomination form.
A team may be nominated for:
 |
An extraordinary accomplishment demonstrated by the completion of a special work project or activity during the last year |
 |
An initiative that reflects the goals of the university in enhancing undergraduate education, operational efficiency, or outcomes assessment |
 |
The attention given to interdepartmental communication and collaboration, working across boundaries utilizing the expertise of team members |
 |
A superior, sustained effort that contributed significantly to the mission of one or more units or of the university as a whole. |
