New Employee Welcome & Benefits Orientation - Information For Hiring Managers & Supervisors

The New Employee Welcome and Benefits Orientation is designed specifically to provide new employees with the opportunity to learn more about Rutgers. Even if the employee is a Rutgers alumnus or has worked at the university in a different capacity, the program is a great opportunity to become aware of the many benefits available to employees. At the program, new employees will learn about the University and its history and about the university's attention to service excellence. Employees will receive information on the many benefits afforded to employees including health plans, paid time off, and pension programs.

Departmental personnel should enroll new employees in the orientation within one week of their hire date, whenever possible. New employees should submit completed benefits forms to departmental personnel as soon as possible.

New Employee Welcome and Benefits Orientation sessions are held each Monday at 9:00 a.m. at University Human Resources on the Cook Campus. During August and September additional sessions are held to accomodate September new hires. A light breakfast is available at 8:15 a.m.

Faculty and staff can receive their RUConnection Card during the New Employee Welcome and Benefits Orientation program. Please have the new employee complete the RUConnection Request Form and bring it along with photo identification on the day of the program.
