New Employee Checklist

The following is a checklist of items you need to be mindful of as you start your employment at Rutgers. This list includes items for faculty and staff. Depending upon your employment type, some items may not pertain to you.

Please submit benefit forms to the person in your department responsible for payroll matters within the time frames listed below from your hire date or benefits orientation date. If you need assistance, please call a Benefits Specialist at 732-932-3020, ext. 4077.

Rutgers Ethics        
  • Review the Rutgers University Code of Ethics and the Rutgers Plain Language Guide to Fundamental Ethics and Conflicts Rules Established by State Law, Federal Law and University Policy. Complete and return the Receipt and Acknowledgement Form to University Human Resources (staff) or Office of Academic Affairs (faculty).

  • Visit a card office, present documentation of employment, and receive a photo ID card

Parking:

  • Call University Parking on your first day at work to let the department know you are a new employee and will be bringing a car onto campus. After you receive your NetID (see below), visit the Parking website and register for a faculty/staff parking permit online
