When An MPSC or Other Nonaligned Employee Leaves Rutgers - Lay-Off
The following need to be considered as you lay off a Managerial, Professional, Supervisory, and Confidential (MPSC) or other nonaligned staff member:
Notice Period
Please refer to the Policy on Employment Protection and Job Security for Managerial, Professional, Supervisory, and Confidential (MPSC) and Other Nonaligned Employees for the specific notification period as stipulated by the policy for MPSC employees.

UHR Staffing Services provides assistance to employees recently laid off. Services provided include:
Benefits at Layoff
Employees are encouraged to take any accrued vacation time prior to the effective date of their layoff with your approval. Your employee is entitled to compensation for any unused earned vacation time that remains at the effective date of layoff. Benefits will end based on the date of lay-off. COBRA will be extended to employee to continue coverage for a period up to 18 months.
