Disability Accommodation

It is the policy of the university to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, and other applicable federal laws that prohibit discrimination on the basis of disability. The university provides reasonable accommodation to qualified individuals with disabilities upon request, unless the accommodation would impose an undue hardship.

The Office of Employment Equity (OEE) serves individuals with disabilities and departments with regard to staff positions. OEE’s services include consulting on compliance with applicable federal and state laws and providing resources. For example, OEE can advise a supervisor on how to respond to a request for accommodation (e.g., engaging in the informal, interactive process to clarify what the individual needs).
