OFFICE OF EMPLOYMENT EQUITY
Supervisors' Harassment Training Guide
A MESSAGE FROM ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT SANDRA RUSSELL
In the spirit of maintaining a respectful and harassment free work environment, the Office of Employment Equity has developed an online harassment training for supervisors. Since supervisors are most often the first source of assistance for harassed employees and since harassing behaviors could potentially have a perilous effect on our employees, as well as our institution, it is recommended that all supervisors take advantage of this opportunity to ensure that our work environments are free from offensive or objectionable behavior that violates the university's Policy Prohibiting Harassment.
The following online training will help you address problems that are often anything but clear-cut. It will also assist you in determining the difference between behavior that is friendly and behavior that constitutes harassment, and help you to prevent and resolve harassment incidents in your work area. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this program, please contact the Office of Employment Equity at 732-932-3020, ext. 4030.
