What services does long term care include?
Personal care, home health care, rehabilitation, adult day care, care management, social services, assisted living, and nursing home services.
Who is eligible to enroll in Long Term Care?
Employees, retirees and the following eligible dependents: spouse; same-sex civil union or domestic partner; adult children and stepchildren; parents, step-parents, and parents-in-law; grandparents, step-grandparents, and grandparents-in-law.
What does the Long Term Care plan cover?
Daily benefit amounts towards care in the home and community, such as home health care, adult day care, informal care, and care that is provided in licensed facilities such as assisted living and nursing homes.
How will premiums be paid?
Payroll deduction is available for the employee and the employee's spouse/same-sex civil union or domestic partner. All other enrolled individuals will be billed directly.
If I terminate my employment with Rutgers University will my coverage terminate?
No. It will remain in effect as long as you continue to pay premiums directly to Prudential.
Will the plan pay for my long term care expenses regardless of where I live?
Yes, the expenses may be incurred anywhere in the United States.
How are premiums determined for Long Term Care coverage?
By the level of the daily benefit selected and the age of the participant at the time of enrollment.
Will I be able to change my coverage should my circumstances change?
Yes.
What happens if I stop paying my premium or drop my coverage?
If you elect a feature called a "shortened benefit period" option, after you have been covered by the plan for three years, you will still be entitled to your accumulated benefits for a limited period of time.
