Employee Services and Special Programs

1. Are all services free for employees?
   
   

   Many services are free. However some do require a fee, such as parking privileges and courses at the recreational centers. It is always best to ask the department before accessing any services.
   
   

2. I noticed that for some programs, such as concerts, athletics, and lectures, there is one price for students and another for faculty and staff. Why is that?
   
   

Students at Rutgers pay additional student fees to offset the expenses of programs. Therefore, they receive a reduced ticket price to many programs and events.



3. I work at the Camden campus, but live outside New Brunswick. Can I use facilities and services on the New Brunswick Campus?
   
   

As a Rutgers employee, you are eligible for services at all three campuses



4. I just found out the other day that I have been hired to work at Rutgers.  I tried to sign up for an email account, but it didn't work.  Why not?
   
   

Your supervisor will need to complete your employment paperwork before you can receive an email account.  If you have additional questions about an account, you can speak to your supervisor directly.



5. Whom do I need to contact to set up direct deposit of my paycheck?
   
   

You need to contact the Payroll Office at 732-445-3007.



6. Can my spouse attend a financial planning workshop with me?
   
   

   Of course. Just be sure to RSVP for both you and your spouse.

Policies and Schedules

1. Where can I get up-to-date information on university policies?
   
   

The best place is the University Policy Library.   In addition, when new policies are established or revised, each employee is notified through email.



2. Do I get a copy of a policies and procedures manual?
   
   

   No. Employees can access this information online through the Policy Library. If you do not have access to a computer at your worksite, then speak to your supervisor directly, and he or she will provide a copy for you.
   
   

3. There seem to be a lot of policies and regulations that apply to employees. Where can I go for assistance in understanding these policies?
   
   

   Answers to general personnel policies can be answered by contacting University Human Resources at 732-932-3020. You may also speak to department's HR Consultant regarding policy interpretations.
