FAQ - New Employee Welcome And Benefits Orientation

  1. Am I required to attend the New Employee Welcome and Benefits Orientation program?

    It is not required, but highly encouraged. Regardless if you are a staff member, a faculty member or TA or work in Newark or New Brunswick, the New Employee Welcome and Benefits Orientation program will have something for you. You will gain valuable information and resources that will assist you in becoming acclimated to Rutgers.

  2. Is this the best way to find out information about my benefits?

    Yes. In New Brunswick, the New Employee Welcome and Benefits Orientation is conveniently held every Monday at 9:00 a.m.

    You can register online. In Newark contact Judy Crespo. In Camden contact Celeste Fisher. Please note that your supervisor may have already enrolled you in the orientation, so you may want to confirm your enrollment with him/her.

  3. I was a student at Rutgers and am now an employee. I don't need to attend a new employee welcome program, right?

    It is recommended that you attend. Your perspective and experience within the university will be different as an employee. In addition, you will want to gain an understanding of the resources, services, and information made available to you as an employee. Finally, the programs are a great way to meet new people!
