New Employee Welcome and Benefits Orientation
The Employee Welcome and Benefits Orientation is held every week at University Human Resources and provides valuable information about the university and your employee benefits. Hiring Authorities should enroll new employees within one week of hire date. If your supervisor does not sign you up for this session, please inquire about attending by calling 732-932-3020, ext. 4077.
At the New Employee Welcome and Benefits Orientation session, you will be given a packet of benefit information and election forms. All benefits information will be explained at this session, based upon your employment type (faculty,staff, TA/GA). You can contact a Benefits Specialist at 732-932-3020, ext. 4077 to get information if you are unable to attend a session. Visit the Benefits web page to learn more about benefit programs available to you. There are a variety of employee discounts and services available through Rutgers University.
Faculty and staff can receive their RUConnection Card during the New Employee Welcome and Benefits Orientation program. Please complete the RUConnection Request Form and bring it along with photo identification on the day of the program.

Note: Failure to complete appropriate enrollment forms within the specified time frame may result in delay of coverage, compulsory enrollment, or loss of coverage.
Rutgers University Code of Ethics: General Conduct
All employees are expected to understand the importance of ethics at Rutgers University. New employees will receive, and be expected to review and become familar with, copies of the Rutgers University Code of Ethics and the Rutgers Plain Language Guide to Fundamental Ethics and Conflicts Rules Established by State Law, Federal Law, and University Policy. New employees will be expected to complete and return the Review and Acknowledgement form during the New Employee Welcome and Benefits Orientation program.
Email and Computer System Access
Computing services are available through the Office of Information Technology. Learn about the computing services that are offered at Rutgers and obtain your email address and NetID.
Parking Permit
Your new department can issue you a temporary parking permit that is good for 30 days. This will give you time to purchase a parking pass online or in person at the Public Safety Building. Visit the Department of Transportation website for the fee schedule, parking maps, and online permit purchasing.
Payroll
Payroll Services offers a variety of services and information including those new employees ask most about such as direct deposit, payroll calendars, and tax information. You can contact Payroll Services at 732-445-3007.
Employee ID Card
The RUConnection Card provides you with a university ID, access to certain facilities, and savings at select local business. To get your card, complete the required Request Form and visit one of the the RUconnection Card Offices on the New Brunswick campus (TA/GAs: Campus Housing Offices; Faculty and Staff: ASB II), the IMPACT BOOTH on the Camden campus or the Photo ID Office on the Newark campus.
