FAQ - Tax$ave Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Transition

Do I have to re-register for the new system?

Yes, participants will be required to register with WageWorks via the WageWorks website. Please provide the most current email address, this will allow you access to receive up-to-date account activity statements, claim status information, and direct deposit reimbursements.

I am enrolled in a Tax$ave Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Why am I not able to access my account online?

Effective September 18, 2012 the administration of the Unreimbursed Medical Spending Account and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account will move to a new system supported by WageWorks. Employees enrolled in a FSA program will not have online access to their accounts during a ‘hold period’ scheduled between September 1 and September 18, 2012. This ‘hold period’ is needed in order to transfer your information, total balance and direct deposit information into the new system.

May I continue to use myFBMC Card® Visa card?

As of August 31, 2012, your current myFBMC Card will be deactivated and you may not use the card to pay for eligible health care expenses. Members will receive a new WageWorks® Health Care Card, which you may activate and start to use as of September 18, 2012.

What are the new features and account enhancements of the new WageWorks system?

The new features and enhancements with WageWorks will allow you to:

  • View your transaction and account history for current and past plan years.
  • Schedule payments to health care and dependent care providers.
  • Check the complete list of eligible expenses for your FSA program.
  • Order additional WageWorks® Health Care Cards for your family.
  • Manage your account while on the go via the WageWorks mobile website.
  • Download the EZ Receipts™ app so that you are able to file claims and take care of Card use paperwork from your smartphone.

When will I have access to my new online account?

Enrolled employees will have access to their new Wage Works account after September 18, 2012 via The new system will reflect only your year to date information.

If you have any question or concerns, please contact Wage Works Customer Service at 855-428-0446, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Will I be able to submit claims to FBMC during this ‘hold period’?

The last day to submit your claims to FBMC is Friday, August 31, 2012. Any claims received after this date will be held and sent to WageWorks for processing in the new system on September 18, 2012.

Will I have access to my old account history?

Yes, you will be able to review your FBMC account history and transactions until April 30, 2013.

Will I receive information in the mail regarding the changes and account enhancements?

Yes, you will receive an announcement letter informing you of the changes to the Tax$ave program. WageWorks has also provided a webinar that will review the changes and new program enhancements.

Will my benefits be changed as a result of the transition?

 If you are enrolled in a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account and/or Unreimbursed Medical Spending Account for 2012 there will be no changes to your benefits. You will continue to save tax dollars with your FSAs accounts.
