UHR Units and Offices

The Units and Office of University Human Resources provide an extensive array of services to the faculty and staff of Rutgers.

Faculty and Staff Assistance Program

Provides comprehensive counseling and referral services to the university community.

Office of Employment Equity

Also known as OEE, supports the university’s commitment to preventing discrimination and advancing equal opportunity in employment.

Office of Labor Relations

Provides services to the Rutgers community in the context of labor relations between the university and its staff employees.

Benefits

The University Human Resources Benefits unit administers the State Health Benefits Program including medical, dental, insurance, tax-savings, and retirement plans as well as work-life resources and programs.

Talent Management

The UHR Talent Management staff is available to assist departmental leaders and their units in a wide variety of human resource issues including staff classification and compensation for the university as well as advising managers on issues regarding interpretation of university policies and procedures, state and federal laws, and performance management issues.

Human Resources Information Technology

The IT Group supports the mission of University Human Resources (UHR) by providing computer technologies that enhance customer service and improve internal processes.

Human Capital Management

The Human Capital Management (HCM) unit  is responsible for calculating and implementing individual salary, mass salary, and data actions for faculty and staff.

Office of the Senior Vice President

The office of Vivian Fernández, Senior Vice President for Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness, who oversees all aspect of University Human Resources.

Operations

The Operations Unit manages the UHR Faculty and Staff Resource Center and responds to inquires from University members.

Learning and Development

The University Human Resources Learning and Development Program offers faculty and staff practical approaches to managing their work and career through workshops, extended learning and certificate programs, and online resources.
