New Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Dear Colleagues,

I’m pleased to share that beginning November 1, Rutgers employees and their eligible household members will have access to a new Employee Assistance Program: Lyra Health. Lyra Health replaces current university employee assistance programs.

This new EAP reflects our commitment to supporting you, the people who make our university a thriving, innovative institution, one that delivers exceptional education, research, and health care. By investing in mental health support, we are empowering the very individuals who drive Rutgers’ excellence and help fulfill our mission across New Jersey and beyond.

Lyra Health offers confidential, convenient, and personalized support for employees and their household members, regardless of where you are in your wellness journey. From on-demand videos to evidence-based coaching and therapy, Lyra provides a toolbox of resources to help you navigate challenges, whether you're managing anxiety or depression, or simply looking to build skills for self-care, I encourage you to sign up.

With Lyra, you and your eligible dependents can access a variety of services free of charge, including:

  • Mental health therapy with licensed therapists and mental health (up to 6 sessions per year)
  • Mental health coaching
  • Support for children, teens, and families
  • 24/7 access to care
  • Self-guided wellness tools and digital resources
  • Unlimited manager consultations
  • Personalized self-care plans developed with mental health experts who understand your needs
  • Lyra Library: A repository of online tools, including guided meditations, videos, and articles about self-care

Starting November 1st, you can get started by:

  1. Visiting www.rutgers.lyrahealth.com to create your account
  2. Taking the care assessment to get matched with high-quality providers who reflect your preferences and identities
  3. Meeting with your provider virtually or in person to begin your journey

We are proud to offer this benefit as part of our ongoing efforts to foster a culture of care, resilience, and support across our university community.
