Action Required: Updated Posting Language Guidance

Dear Colleagues,

As part of Rutgers University’s ongoing commitment to compliance with federal and state requirements, University Human Resources (UHR), in collaboration with the Office of the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs (EVPAA), has updated guidance regarding posting language for faculty and staff positions. The EEO statement in ROCS has been updated automatically on your behalf.

What You Need to Do

Update Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement on all Faculty and Staff postings outside of ROCS and locally saved recruitment materials for Rutgers University to reflect the following updated language:

It is university policy to provide equal employment opportunity to all its employees and applicants for employment regardless of their race, creed, color, national origin, age, ancestry, nationality, marital or domestic partnership or civil union status, sex, pregnancy, gender identity or expression, disability status, liability for military service, protected veteran status, affectional or sexual orientation, atypical cellular or blood trait, genetic information (including the refusal to submit to genetic testing), or any other category protected by law. As an institution, we encourage all qualified applicants to apply. For additional information please see the Non-Discrimination Statement at the following web address: http://uhr.rutgers.edu/non-discrimination-statement.

You do not need to update postings that are already live on ROCS.

Do not supplement postings with additional statements regarding diversity, equity, or inclusion, and do not include supplemental questions inviting applicants to comment on how they will contribute to diversity, equity, or inclusion.

If you have any questions about these requirements or about specific posting language, please contact your Talent Acquisition representative.

Sincerely,

Vivian Fernández
Senior Vice President for Human Resources
