In accordance with University Policy 60.1.13, Prohibiting Workplace Violence, the university will respond promptly to violence, threats of violence, harassment, intimidation, or disruptive behavior of a threatening nature towards people or property.
Any person experiencing or witnessing imminent or actual violence involving weapons or potential injuries should dial 9-1-1. If calling from a University phone, obtain an outside line, and then dial 9-1-1.
Any person who is the subject of, or witness to, workplace violence should report the incident to his/her immediate supervisor or, in lieu thereof, to the appropriate designated university representative/office listed below:

In addition to notifying the appropriate personnel, victims and/or witnesses of workplace violence must complete a Workplace Violence Incident Report documenting the incident in detail. If appropriate, a relevant work unit representative may also be required to complete a Workplace Violence Incident Report for university purposes.
After the report is submitted to the designated university representative/office, an investigation shall take place regarding the allegations made. In consultation with the Office of Labor Relations, an investigator shall be appointed to examine the matter and determine whether or not there was a breach of policy.
Retaliatory action against anyone acting in good faith who has made a complaint of workplace violence, who has reported witnessing workplace violence, or who has been involved in the reporting of, investigating or responding to workplace violence is a violation of University policy.
