Training for New Employees

The following reflects training and contacts that may be required for new employees. If you are unsure if you need to participate in training, speak to your immediate supervisor.

Absence Reporting System (ARS)

Audience: Employees authorized to enter and manage employee absence information

Cornerstone Financial, Procurement and HR/Payroll and Time keeping systems

Audience: Employees authorized to make financial management and purchasing transactions and employees responsible for initiating personnel and payroll actions. Individuals must be authorized in advance to participate in training. Click Request Access (Cornerstone) box located in the upper right section. Scroll down to locate Training located at the bottom.

Management and Professional Development

Audience: Free of charge sessions are open to all Rutgers faculty and staff.

Supervisor Essentials Certificate Program 

Audience: All newly-hired or newly-promoted employees at Rutgers who supervise full-time employees. Be sure to look at the recommended Management Development Curriculum.

Communicator Certificate Program

Audience: Staff in external affairs, marketing, or communication positions (public relations, editorial/media specialists, development) are expected to enroll.The program is also open to all full-time employees.

Audience: Required for all employees who work in laboratories, hazardous environments, or with chemicals, including staff who work in facilities, housing, and dining

Unlawful Harassment Prevention Program

Audience: Required for all employees. A link will be sent via email from Skillsoft with your personal link for your training. It will arrive approximately one month after you are hired and then every one year after for renewal.
