Horizon MyWay® HSA Transition – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is happening to my Horizon MyWay® HSA?

Your Horizon MyWay® Health Savings Account (HSA) is transitioning to a new HSA administrator. To ensure your funds move successfully, you must take action.

What action do I need to take?

You must authorize the transfer of your HSA funds to the new administrator by June 3, 2026.

  • Use the transfer link provided in your communication.
  • Enter your 6-digit personal code.
  • Provide your first name, last name, and Social Security number on the secure transfer page.
What if I have investment funds in my HSA?
  • If you would like those funds to be liquidated and transferred to the new vendor account, you must make that election by June 3rd, 2026.
  • The current HSA administrator (Health Equity) will liquidate your investments and transfer them to the new vendor.
  • Transferred funds will be accessible via the new vendor portal on July 1, 2026.
  • Should you choose to leave your investments with the existing vendor (Health Equity) please review the FAQ below: “What Happens if I do not authorize the transfer by June 3, 2026?”
What happens if I do NOT authorize the transfer by June 3, 2026?

If you do not complete the transfer:

  • A new Horizon MyWay HSA account will still be opened for you.
  • Your existing balance will NOT transfer and will remain with HealthEquity.
  • You will be charged a monthly maintenance fee on the old account.
  • Your current debit card will stop working on June 8, 2026.
  • HealthEquity will issue a new debit card for your old account.
  • You will effectively have two HSA accounts and two debit cards.
  • Future payroll contributions will go into your new Horizon MyWay HSA.
What is the blackout period?
  • The blackout period runs from June 8 through June 30, 2026.
  • You will not have access to your funds during this time.
What happens during the blackout period?

During this time:

  • Your current HSA debit card will not work.
  • You will not be able to submit claims or receive reimbursements.
  • Payroll deductions will continue but the funds will not be accessible until July 1, 2026via the new platform.
  • Any authorized fund transfers (submitted by June 3) will be processed.
  • A new Horizon MyWay debit card will be mailed to you.
How should I pay for expenses during the blackout period?

  • Check
  • Personal credit card

This includes updating any automatic or recurring payments tied to your current HSA card.

You can reimburse yourself after July 1, 2026, once your new account is fully active.
